Dr. Edward J. Brennan, former Director of Clinical Pharmacology and Discovery Medicine at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), joined IndiPharm as President and CEO in early 2007. At GSK, Dr. Brennan was responsible for coordinating all clinical activities for external partners within GSK’s Center of Excellence in External Drug Discovery (CEEDD). IndiPharm was founded by Mr. Dilip Limaye, who has extensive experience as a senior advisor and consultant to organizations such as the World Bank, UNDP, International Finance Corporation, USAID, and other international funding agencies, as well as an entrepreneur who has participated in the establishment of a number of international organizations in a wide range of fields including energy efficiency, renewable energy, information technology (IT), and business process outsourcing (BPO). Most of these ventures have combined the establishment of a U.S. based organization for client interface and services, with an established Indian operation to execute projects and programs efficiently and effectively. Clients, through the U.S.-India interface, are provided global quality services, reductions in the time required to deliver the services, and substantial cost savings.
Having successfully and repeatedly implemented this business model of U.S.-India cooperation, Mr. Limaye recognized the exponential growth potential for clinical trials in India and created IndiPharm. He established the required capabilities both in the U.S. and India, making it possible for Western biotech and pharmaceutical companies to outsource clinical trials to India through IndiPharm.
IndiPharm’s Scientific Advisory Board includes three highly distinguished individuals: Dr. Shashank Joshi, Dr. Purvish Parikh, and Dr. Mark Strobeck .
IndiPharm’s operations in India are carried out through its wholly-owned subsidiary IndiPharm ( India ) Private Limited. IndiPharm has established the Indian Investigator Network (IIN) of ICH/GCP compliant clinical investigators who have extensive experience in a wide range of therapeutic areas.
